The DFB Pokalendspiel 2017 is the 74th edition Germany’s second most important trophy in the club football. Since 1935 the club teams have already played for this title.

The venue for the finals changed in the past. Since 1985, however, the final game for the DFB Cup has been played in the Olympiastadion Berlin. In May 2014 the contract with the DFB was extended until 2020.

64 teams (36 clubs from the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga and 28 teams from the lower leagues) compete in five rounds to reach the final. The DFB Cup winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa League.

Dancers will perform the opening ceremony.
